Tried and Tested Drugstore Makeup I swear by

Drugstore makeup isn’t cheap anymore. We used to be able to pick up a good few products and the total still wouldn’t hit £40 but now? A concealer, foundation and setting powder at Superdrug right now is probably setting you back £30-40 so picking up a few things just to try isn’t an option anymore.

I’m going to show you my full-face drugstore routine that not only looks good every time but won’t bleed your pockets when it’s time to restock.

Base

For a full coverage base, I like the Revolution Conceal and Define Foundation. I’ve tried it for years alongside other drugstore foundations and I’ve always come back to it because the coverage is so smooth and almost velvet.

On a lighter day, I mix the 17 Second Skin Enhancing Foundation with equal amounts of my day cream and blend this into the skin. I set it as normal after my concealer and it gives a skin-like glowy look without the feel of a full face of makeup. It gives enough coverage for me but if you want a little more experiment with the cream-to-foundation ratios.

For concealer, I’ve tested quite a few but I’ve narrowed down my favourites. A more recent favourite is the 17 Second Skin Enhancing concealer, I use it when I want that bright undereye look on a night out, because, even when dried down, it still blends like a dream. Plus I don’t look ghastly in the Digi cam pics.

I’ve also enjoyed the Beauty Forever HD Long Wearing Multi-use Concealer, I picked it up in Paks and honestly didn’t have high hopes but it didn’t disappoint!

An honorary shoutout to the Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer which I haven’t picked up in a while but thoroughly enjoyed.

I dust over my whole face, lightly, with the Revolution Reloaded Pressed Powder. Sometimes I swirl a small dense brush into the powder and use this almost to bake my under eyes and carve out my nose contour. It gives me a soft sculpted look and the powder itself is a dream, super buttery and not too matte.

Cheeks

For blush and bronzer, I’ve been using the Collection Gorgeous Glow palette, the blush shades are so flattering and buildable, that I normally add another layer at the end of my routine. The bronzer can run super warm so if you prefer a cooler look then avoid this palette. Sometimes I balance it out by using the Makeup Obsession Mega Concealer as a contour underneath. Im not a highlighter on the face kinda girl, but when I do use highlighter on my body during summer it’s always MAC Oh Darling.

Eyes

I normally have lashes on from PinkFishes but when I don’t, I use the Barry M Insta Lash Mascara. I don’t use mascara often, It’s the makeup step I try to skip if I can but this mascara makes it really quick. I only ever need one coat, it’s thick enough to not move around as soon as it’s on my lashes and it’s never smudged on me!
